Need accessibility testing services? You’ve come to the right place.
Accessibility testing services are becoming more popular for many reasons. Some companies are concerned about legal issues if their websites and apps violate federal standards. Others want to make sure that everyone has equal access to content. Whatever the reason, accessibility testing services can help your business or non-profit be usable by all.
Website & Mobile App Accessibility
Whether you have a website, desktop software, or an iOS/Android mobile app, our accessibility testers can help ensure that your platform is compliant. We even partner with other accessibility testing agencies, so you’ll have access to the best testers for your specific needs.
Custom Accessibility Testing Process
We know that accessibility isn’t one size fits all. Some clients want to make sure their software doesn’t have any crucial issues. Others want us to test and provide certification for WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA or AAA. (More details on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines below!) Some teams are primarily focused on making their software more accessible for those with visual and hearing disabilities. Others are looking to include fixes for users that have issues with mobility or learning disabilities.
We can customize our process based on your goals. And whether you prefer to be hands-off, or have accessibility testers work directly with your developers to help guide the fixes, we’re here to make things easy and smooth for your team.
Manual and Automated Accessibility Testing
We can help identify accessibility issues with manual testing, automated testing, or both. While automated testing can’t catch everything, it’s great to have in place for any technical issues your software might have. And with manual testing, our experienced testers will personally audit your website or app for accessibility and user experience issues.
Get Help with Next Steps
If you’re not sure what to do with the accessibility bugs we find, we can help! We can guide you on next steps so that your developers can fix the issues we find. This will ensure that your current accessibility issues are fixed. Furthermore, it will help your developers understand how to build upcoming features in more accessible ways, saving time and money upfront.
WCAG Principles
If you’re not familiar with WCAG, that’s okay! Whether you’re looking to follow accessibility law for America or globally, we can help break down everything you need to know. “WCAG” stands for Web Content Accessibility Guide, and there are different levels of guidelines (with A as the lowest, and AAA as the highest).
The Web Content Accessibility Guide has four main principles. No matter what type of disability a user has, they need accessible web content to be:
- Perceivable: users need to be able to perceive the information on the screen. (For example, if the user is blind and the information is only presented in a picture without a description, they won’t be able to perceive it.)
- Operable: users need to be able to use the interface. (For example, if a captcha only provided an audio option, a user that was deaf wouldn’t be able to use it.)
- Understandable: users need to be able to understand the info on the screen.
- Robust: users need to be able to interact with the content even as new technologies come out.
We test against WCAG standards and use a myriad of screen readers (including JAWS and NVDA), magnifiers, talk-back software, and many other assistive technologies commonly used by real users. In addition, we also work with testers with relevant disabilities, who can point out any unexpected issues.
